William V. McPherson graduated from Duke University where he was an Angier B. Duke Scholar and went on to graduate, with honors, from the law school at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He has been practicing law in Durham for nearly 40 years where he focuses on estate planning, charitable giving, trust and estate administration, and trust and estate litigation with his firm McPherson, Rocamora, Nicholson & Nordgren, PLLC.
Mr. McPherson is a board-certified specialist in estate planning and probate law. He is admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit, the U.S. Tax Court, and the U.S. Courts for the Eastern and Middle Districts of North Carolina. Mr. McPherson is a past president of the Durham-Orange Estate Planning Council, and a member of the American Bar Association, and its Real Property, Trust and Estate Law Section. He is also a member of the North Carolina Bar Association and its Estate Planning and Fiduciary Law Section.
