Since starting his practice in 2000, Douglas A. Funkhouser has demonstrated his expertise as a trial attorney in a broad range of criminal defense cases.

“Experience counts in a courtroom,” says Funkhouser, who believes that extensive preparation is the other key element to a successful jury trial. Before private practice, he was selected for the Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps following law school and spent four years serving as a prosecutor in Korea and as legal adviser to the Army’s Criminal Investigation Command. He handled complicated felony and misdemeanor cases in the Army and gained significant training and experience.

Following his military service, Funkhouser opened his practice and continued handling felony and misdemeanor cases. He has a solid reputation for his criminal defense work, with extensive experience in OVI/DUI defense, an area Funkhouser develops daily. He provides expert representation in criminal defense cases, including death penalty litigation and white collar crime.
