Co-founder and managing partner of the law firm of Zoll & Kranz, in Toledo, Ohio, attorney David W. Zoll represents clients across a broad spectrum of civil litigation, including pharmaceutical mass tort litigation, Multi-District litigation (MDL), product liability, and professional negligence matters.
A graduate of the University of Toledo College of Law, Mr. Zoll has been practicing in Ohio since his admission to the Ohio Bar in 1977. He is a board certified civil trial advocate, certified by the Ohio Supreme Court as a specialist in the field of trial advocacy. He is also an examiner for the National Board of Trial Advocacy. He wrote and graded the board certification exam questions in these areas: commercial law (2005), civil ethics (2007) and evidence (2008).
Lawyer David Zoll has handled several cases before the Ohio Supreme Court, including Anderson v. Ceccardi, 6 Ohio St.3d 110, 451 N.E.2d 780 (Ohio 1983), in which the doctrine of assumption of the risk was merged into the statutory tort scheme of comparative fault.
Mr. Zoll was special counsel on behalf of the plaintiffs in In re: Inter-Op Hip Prosthesis Liability Litigation (Sulzer). MDL Docket No. 01-CV-9000, and is currently on the Discovery Committee in In re: Vioxx® Products Liability Litigation MDL Docket No. 1657. He presently serves as liaison counsel for the plaintiffs in In re: Heparin Products Liability Litigation MDL Docket No. 1953.
Among other recognitions, Mr. Zoll has been selected for inclusion in the Ohio Super Lawyers listings 2008, 2009 and 2010. This selection is based on the evaluation of legal peers for ethical standards, legal practice and other criteria. Mr. Zoll also regularly lectures and speaks at trade and attorney groups, sharing the benefit of his experience with his peers and the community.
