Verdicts and Settlements:

  • Joseph obtained the largest verdict in a personal injury case in the past 15 years in Hamilton County, Ohio ($7.6M).  He also holds the record for the largest verdict in Butler County in a personal injury case ($6.7M).  He obtained a $5.7M summary jury verdict in Northern Ky Federal Court.  He has appeared three times in the Ohio Supreme Court.  In all three cases he  represented the appellant and won all three cases.
  •   I recently represented a young college scholarship football player in one of the many pending pain pump product liability cases.  Despite hundreds of cases being filed across the country, our firm was the only firm to discover and allege that the CEO and other high officials of the pain pump manufacturer were profiting from the sale of their stock in the company during a period where the CEO took down a company warning to patients and physicians stating not to use the product within the joint space.  The CEO had suspended a program for four months from being implemented by his company to warn against the use of the pain pump in the joint space.  During that time, we found that he exercised his stock options and sold large quantities of his shares at the highest price ever for the stock.  After the warning program was finally implemented, the stock plummeted, leaving most investors out in the cold.  Our client’s case was settled shortly before trial for an undisclosed amount., 2011

Other Outstanding Achievements:

  • Joseph was notified by Martindale-Hubbell that he had received the highest rating available for 25 consecutive years.  They also noted that his Law Firm of Shea and Associates has been rated "Pre-Eminent" all three areas for 15years has now been extended to five fields of practice., 2010
