W. Mark Jump is the founder of Jump Legal Group, LLC; a five (5) lawyer law firm focused on helping individuals, families and small business owners who are experiencing financial difficulty. Mr. Jump serves as managing partner of the firm. He primarily represents clients in bankruptcy proceedings under both Chapter 7 and Chapter 13. Mr. Jump has also helped clients with non-bankruptcy, debt-relief alternatives such as debt settlement and mortgage loan modification. Mr. Jump and his firm are have become increasingly more active litigating foreclosure cases throughout Ohio on behalf of homeowners. These efforts have allowed many homeowners to save their homes without filing for bankruptcy protection.
Professionally, Mr. Jump is widely recognized as a leader in his field. He has spoken on many bankruptcy related topics over the years at a number of continuing legal education seminars. Most recently, Mr. Jump spoke on the topic of how to effectvely manage a bankruptcy practice at the 2013 Bankruptcy Law Institute ( BLI ) held at the Columbus Bar Association. Mr. Jump was selected to serve on the 2012 Bench Bar Committee and spoke at the most recent district wide meeting on a number of issues and challenges facing bankruptcy attorneys. He has spoken a number of times at the fall and winter seminars put on by the Credit Education Coalition ( CEC ). Mr. Jump is a former President and current board member of CEC. In 2012, he started a Chapter 13 Liaison Committee, which he currently chairs. In 2013 , the Columbus Chapter 13 Trustees selected Mr. Jump and one other attorney to serve on a district wide committee to address Chapter 13 plan language relating to attorneys fees. Mr. Jump continues to serve on the district wide standing Local Bankrutpcy Rules Committee, which he has served on since 2009. In 2011, Mr. Jump was elected President of the American Consumer Bankruptcy College ( ACBC), composed of practicing consumer bankruptcy attorneys from around the country. He remains active in ACBC and is a member of the American Bankrutpcy Insititute ( ABI ) , the National Association of Consumer Bankrutpcy Attorneys and the National Association of Consumer Advocates ( NACA ).
While maintaining a busy practice, Mr. Jump and his firm have been active in his community. In particular, he helped start a local Credit Abuse Resistance Education Program (CARE) and he and his firm have participated in a new local pro bono program designed to help the most needy of debtros.
Mr. Jump is a graduate of Capital University Law School and received his undergraduate degree from Miami University. Jump Legal Group, LLC serves clients throughout central Ohio from its office locations in the cities of Columbus, Lancaster, Delaware and Zanesville.
