Jody L. Stahancyk is the Senior Partner of Stahancyk, Kent, Johnson & Hook, the law firm she founded in 1986 and serves as the President of the Board of Directors of Child Centered Solutions (CCS), a non-profit organization she founded in 2006 to help protect the rights of children involved in high conflict divorce. CCS is the first organization of its kind in Oregon and is on the forefront of the drive to expand the rights of children nationally. Ms. Stahancyk has earned the reputation as a strong woman and a formidable opponent in the courtroom. At the same time, Ms. Stahancyk is known for her extreme generosity as a pillar of her community. She prides herself on coming up with creative solutions to difficult problems in every area of her work, and believes that whatever you receive you should give back three-times as much. Ms. Stahancyk developed the Student Worker Program at Stahancyk, Kent, Johnson & Hook. Through the Student Worker Program, SKJ&H employs high-school-aged students and teaches them the necessary skills to achieve not only in a professional office environment, but in college and careers beyond. The program stresses work ethic, presentation, etiquette, problem solving and creative business thinking, teaching students to become great employees. SKJ&H hosts Friday afternoon spaghetti dinners for the Lincoln High School Football team throughout the football season each year. The 70 football players come to the SKJ&H office just down the street from the high school and have a hearty sit-down dinner to fuel them for their game that evening. This is yet another creative way in which the firm shows its support for the local community. Ms. Stahancyk has been recognized for both her community involvement and her strong business leadership - 2001 “Salute to Women of Excellence” March of Dimes White Rose Award, 2003 Alumni Service Award, Linfield College, 2005 Better Business Bureau Large Business of the Year Award for overall excellence in Integrity, Community Service, Community Involvement, and Innovative Business Practices.
