Jonathan R. Duerst is a fifth generation Oregonian born and raised in Cottage Grove, Oregon. He received his Bachelor's Degree from Oregon State University in 1975 and his Law Degree from the University of Oregon in 1979. Jon has practice law as a successful trial lawyer in Oregon for over 30 years. Jonathan began his law career as a prosecutor with the Coos County, Oregon District Attorney's Office. After one year of prosecuting misdemeanor cases, he was promoted to Chief Deputy District Attorney where he successfully prosecuted felony criminal cases for the next nine years. He was also administrator of the Coos County District Attorney Family Support Office. Jonathan entered private practice in 1989 and began handling family law cases. Jon and his family moved to Bend, OR in 1991 and he started his own law firm in Bend in 1993. He has successfully represented clients throughout Central and Eastern Oregon since 1991. Jonathan is a fellow in the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers since 2002, a member of the Oregon State Bar Family Law Section, and a member ot the Deschutes County Family Law Advisorty Committee. He enjoys hiking, hunting, fishing and photography in his spare time.
