Robert S. (Bob) Banks Jr. represents individual and institutional investors. Most of his cases are against brokerage firms and financial advisors for financial fraud, misrepresentation or defective investment products. Banks has a stellar record, and his results and cases have been reported in The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, The Oregonian, and numerous financial publications. He has particular expertise in FINRA securities arbitration, and has been an advisor to FINRA on its arbitration rules for many years. Banks also represents clients in large, complex legal malpractice cases involving securities and corporate law issues. His 2011 jury verdict in Multnomah County, Oregon of $7.7 million in a securities legal malpractice case is believed to be the largest jury verdict obtained for an individual in Oregon for the year.
Mr. Banks' professional honors include recognition in the Oregon Super Lawyers listings every year since the honor's inception, an AV Preeminent* peer review rating through Martindale-Hubbell and awards of merit from the Oregon Federal Bar Association and the Public Investors Arbitration Bar Association.
