In practice as an attorney since 1978, Maria P. Cognetti is the founder of Cognetti & Associates, a Pennsylvania family law firm serving clients in the Harrisburg area and southeast portions of the commonwealth. Ms. Cognetti’s practice is devoted exclusively to family law issues such as divorce, child custody, child support, spousal support, property division and property settlement agreements.

Ms. Cognetti is a vice president of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and a fellow of the International Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. On several occasions, she has worked with the legislature, the courts and professional organizations such as the Pennsylvania Bar Association to effect positive change in this area of the law. Ms. Cognetti has been selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America publication, Pennsylvania Super Lawyers (multiple consecutive years) and the Martindale-Hubbell Bar Registry of Preeminent Lawyers.
