Attorney Melissa Ruefle Spencer graduated from Westminster College in 1988 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science and Sociology. She graduated from Duquesne University School of Law with her J.D. in 2003 as part of the evening program while working for Caroselli, Beachler, McTiernan & Conboy, L.L.C. as a paralegal during the day. Since 2003, she has been an associate with the law firm. She is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and the U.S. District Court, Western District of Pennsylvania. She practices exclusively in the area of asbestos litigation and is a member of the Allegheny County Bar Association (Member of the BLI class of 2004-2005, serving on the YLD Council since 2005 and YLD Education Committee chair from 2007-2009), the Pennsylvania and American Bar Associations, Western Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Association, Pennsylvania Association for Justice and the American Association for Justice.
In 2010, Attorney Spencer was recognized by the Pennsylvania Super Lawyers as a Rising Star.
Attorney Spencer is a very involved member of the Westminster College Alumni community including serving on the Pittsburgh Regional Alumni Committee and as a member of Westminster College Alumni Council (including President in 2008-2009). She is also involved in her community, assisting with the Plum High School Marching Band Colorguard Squad and coaching little league softball. She is an active member of Riverside Community Church in Oakmont, PA.
