Profile

Mr. McDonald is the principal of the Lancaster law firm of McDonald At Law which limits its practice to serious personal injury cases.  Attorney McDonald is certified as a Civil Trial Advocate by the National Board of Trial Advocacy, the National Board of Legal Specialty Certification, originally in 2002 and recertified in 2007.  As a result of his trial record, Attorney McDonald has received national certification to the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum, certification and multiple citations to the national Million Dollar Advocates Forum and certification to the national Verdict Club, Premier Trial Lawyers, Platinum Member.  Mr. McDonald has obtained the largest non-death trial verdict in a personal injury case in the history of Lancaster County.  This trial verdict has led to precedent-setting, third-party excess/bad faith liability litigation. Mr. McDonald has also obtained one of the highest arbitration awards in the history of Lancaster County. He is a long standing author and lecturer of automobile insurance law to attorneys within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Alicea, Court of Common Pleas of  Lancaster County, PA., CI-99-04316 - Trial verdict resulting in compensatory damages of $2,605,755; verdict date August 30, 2000 -the largest non-death Trial Verdict in history of Lancaster County. This verdict led to precedent setting third part bad faith litigation.
  • Staub, et us. v. Demetrius Cosey and P.A.M. Transportation Services, Inc., et al., U.S. District Court, Middle District, (Harrisburg, PA), 1:CV-06-344.  Pretrial settlement of $1,475,000.00 - March 19, 2007.
  • Bosman v. Pringle, et al., Court of Common Pleas of Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania, September Term 1994, No. 0666.  Trial Verdict resulting in compensatory damages of $2,500,000.00; verdict date August 19, 1998.
  • McDaniel v. O'Kane and Godfrey, et al., Court of Common Pleas of Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania, August Term, 1990, No. 02808.  Jury verdict resulting in damages of $1,515,821.00; verdict date December 8, 1994.
  • Michael Waltz and Melissa Waltz v. Travelers, Uninsured Motorist Arbitration Award of $1,300,000.00 molded to the policy limit of $1,000,000.00, Lancaster County, PA, August 28 - One of the largest Arbitration Awards in the history of Lancaster County, 2009
