Mr. Savage was born in Kingston, New York on November 3, 1947. He received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Fordham University in 1972 and a Juris Doctor Degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1975. Prior to entering private practice in 1981, Mr. Savage was a prosecutor for the State of South Carolina in the Fifth Judicial Circuit before serving as Chief Trial Counsel for the South Carolina Attorney General's Office, Criminal Division from 1979 - 1981. Mr. Savage was the first criminal defense attorney in South Carolina to be Board Certified as a Criminal Trial Advocate by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. Mr. Savage has an "AV" rating in Martindale-Hubbell, is a Fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers, and has been named yearly in the "Best Lawyers of America" since 1990 in the practice area of Criminal Defense. He is the host of the Emmy Award winning show The Savage Report on Comcast channel C2.
