He received his Bachelor of Science in Business from the University of South Carolina in 1972. He was a member of the Honorary Societies of Beta Gamma Sigma and Omicron Delta Epsilon. He received his Juris Doctor from the University in 1975. In 1975, Mr. Williams, along with his father Marshall B. Williams, formed Williams and Williams. Marshall B. Williams served in the South Carolina Senate from 1953-1995 and was President Pro Tempore of the South Carolina Senate from 1989 until his death in 1995. Mr. Williams is married to the Hon. Karen J. Williams, who is the former Chief Judge of the Fourth Circuit of the United States Court of Appeals. Mr. Williams has four children, all of whom are attorneys.Mr. Williams practices in both state and federal courts and is admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court.
