Donald Coggins is a well-known South Carolina trial lawyer in state and federal cases involving serious personal injury, product liability, employment law and nursing home negligence. He is a managing partner in the law firm Harrison, White, Smith & Coggins, P.C., of Spartanburg, South Carolina. Admitted to the bar in 1984, attorney Donald Coggins is admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court, the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, the U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina and trial and appellate courts throughout South Carolina.
Included among the high-profile, landmark cases he has handled are the state of South Carolina v. Eli Lilly, which resulted in a $45 million pharmaceutical settlement, and Bellsey v. Betras Plastics, which resulted in a $1.3 million employment verdict.
Mr. Coggins has been selected by his peers for inclusion in the South Carolina Super Lawyers list every year since 2008. He has been included in the Best Lawyers in America publication (2005-2010) and he is a member of the American Association for Justice's Top 100 Lawyers in South Carolina.
