Profile

Mr. Howe began practicing with his father, Gedney M. Howe, Jr., in 1973 and continues his practice with his partners, Alvin Hammer and Caroline West, focusing on representing plaintiffs in personal injury litigation. He has received Martindale-Hubbell's highest rating. He represented the SC State Senate in reapportionment litigation and has participated in numerous significant trials including Hurd v. U.S. (4th Cir. 2002), in which Mr. Howe represented the plaintiffs and won a $19 million judgment, and U.S. v. Wilkes, in which he represented SC Rep.Wilkes, the only indicted legislator found not guilty in the FBI sting Operation Lost Trust. He recently represented the plaintiffs in a personal injury action in which he negotiated a settlement thought to be the largest settlement of its kind in SC.
