A STEADY FOUNDATION
In 1971, George Chandler began his personal injury practice in Lufkin. Since then, Chandler has dedicated his entire professional career to helping injured people. His passion for justice and protecting the rights of his clients has been the backbone of his firm. “A trial lawyer has the unique opportunity to truly make a difference in the life of a client and in the lives of all Americans,” says Chandler.
Chandler’s dedication to one of the founding principles of our country—the right to trial by jury—is shared by all members of the firm. Chandler Law Offices has earned a reputation as a trial firm committed to achieving the best results for its clients. And it has done it the old-fashioned way—by trying lawsuits in courthouses across Texas and the United States.
CHANDLER LAW FLOURISHES
In a time of tort reform in which law firms are breaking up and lawyers are considering other lines of work, Chandler Law Offices continues to expand. While the home office remains in Lufkin, the firm opened an office in Houston last year. “Our telephones keep ringing,” says Chandler.
Chandler Law Offices’ personal injury caseload ranges from suits over defective products to medical malpractice to premises liability to motor vehicle and trucking wrecks to suits against insurance companies. The firm not only handles cases in East Texas and Houston, but throughout Texas in both state and federal court. The firm has also been retained in many out-of-state matters. In addition to the personal injury caseload, the firm also serves as trial and local counsel on many patent cases filed in the Eastern District of Texas.
THE TEAM
Chandler joins forces with partners Perry Zivley and Kirk Mathis. Chandler and Mathis work primarily in the Lufkin office, while Zivley handles the Houston office. Together they enjoy an “of counsel” relationship with widely respected, retired 159th State District Judge Gerald Goodwin.
A TURNAROUND IN SIGHT
Chandler sees a reversal in the abuses of the system created by so called “tort reform” special interest groups. “I believe the pendulum is swinging back toward the middle, toward fairness and justice, after the insurance companies pushed too hard in their efforts to eliminate victims’ rights to trial by jury and fair compensation,” he says. Despite the doom and gloom perceived by many on the plaintiffs’ side, Chandler’s hope bodes well for the firm’s clients.
