The 6-foot-4-inch silhouette of longtime family lawyer George M. Parker is a familiar sight in Collin County legal circles. Parker opened his legal practice in Collin County more than 30 years ago and has been board-certified in family law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization for more than 20 years. Parker has served as the president of the Collin County Bar Association and has had an active practice in litigation and mediation of family law matters. Just as Parker was a pioneer when he settled in McKinney, what was then a sleepy Texas town and county seat of Collin County in the late 1970s, he is also a pioneer in the practice of collaborative law in Collin County. Collaborative law is a revolutionary method of resolving family law disputes outside the courthouse. It has required Parker to devote hundreds of hours to studying and training in conflict resolution and negotiation. Parker has assisted hundreds of people throughout the state with their family law disputes by using collaborative law techniques. Additionally, Parker is an active member of the Dallas Alliance of Collaborative Family Lawyers and is a frequent speaker at continuing legal education seminars on the subject of collaborative law.

However, not all cases can be handled with collaborative law, and Parker has long been recognized as an aggressive and successful litigator. His easy-going manner, dedication to the client, knowledge of Texas family law and technical expertise in a courtroom all spell success.
