Alton C. Todd has built a solid reputation in his more than 35 years as a practicing attorney.

Through his practice, the Law Firm of Alton C. Todd in Friendswood, Texas, he has ably served clients in general civil trial and employment law, as well as in negligence, personal injury, product liability and medical malpractice cases. The Law Firm of Alton C. Todd also handles personal injury lawsuits, wrongful death cases and business litigation.

Mr. Todd was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in 1971 after earning his law degree at Southern Methodist University. He practiced with a Galveston, Texas, insurance defense firm before joining the law firm of Wellborn, Britt and Brown in Alvin, Texas.

After 25 years representing clients through his personal injury practice in Alvin, Mr. Todd founded the Law Firm of Alton C. Todd. In 2000, he moved his practice to Friendswood.

Mr. Todd is admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court; the U.S. Court of Appeals, 5th Circuit; and the U.S. District Court for the Northern and Southern Districts of Texas and the Western District of Arkansas. He is among fewer than 2 percent of lawyers certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in personal injury and civil trial law.

Over the years, Mr. Todd has been active in several professional organizations, including the American Bar Association, the Bar Association of the Fifth Federal Court, the Brazoria County Bar Association, the Galveston County Bar Association, the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, the Texas Association of Civil Trial & Appellate Specialists, the Texas Bar Foundation, the American Association for Justice, the American College of Trial Lawyers, the American Board of Trial Advocates, the National Board of Trial Advocacy and the AARP Legal Services Network.

Further, Mr. Todd has been a member of the Texas Trial Lawyers Association board of directors and director of college of the State Bar of Texas. He is a member and diplomate of the American Board of Trial Advocates, an American College of Trial Lawyers fellow, and an inductee of the International Academy of Trial Lawyers. In 2010, he served as District 5 nominating chairman for the Texas Bar Foundation.

During his career, Mr. Todd has received several impressive awards. He was selected the Best Civil Trial and Top Personal Injury Lawyer by Galveston County attorneys and among attorneys named to the Top 100 of the American Association for Justice.

Further, Mr. Todd was recognized by Texas Super Lawyers in 2003 through 2009 and Top 100 Houston Area Super Lawyers in 2006 through 2008.
