Amir Alavi represents both plaintiffs and defendants in complex commercial litigation and securities fraud cases. His experience includes litigation in a wide variety of industries, including energy, oil and gas, IT services, construction, hedge funds, financial services and transportation.
Alavi was a John M. Olin Fellow in Law and Economics at the University of Chicago Law School and is a frequent author and speaker at CLE events around the country. His cases have been featured in such publications as The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, Boston Globe, Houston Chronicle, and The Los Angeles Times.
Prior to joining AZA, Alavi was Senior Vice President and General Counsel of a national technology company, where he was responsible for legal matters, an HR department managing more than 5,000 employees, and the company’s M&A department. He also previously served as a Law Clerk to the Honorable Jerry E. Smith, United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
