Profile
For more than 40 years now, attorney Charles Robertson has been helping clients in Dallas, Fort Worth and throughout north Texas to resolve even the most complex or contentious family law issues involving divorce, property division, child custody, support, paternity and other domestic relations matters.
As a lawyer and an advocate, Mr. Robertson believes that crafting a satisfactory settlement is the best alternative for all parties in the vast majority of cases. When necessary, however, Mr. Robertson does not hesitate to put his superior courtroom skills to work for his clients.
In addition to being recognized as a Texas Super Lawyer every year since 2003, Mr. Robertson has several other professional accomplishments of note: He has argued four cases before the Texas Supreme Court, three of which significantly changed the area of family law in Texas. As a member of the Family Law Council of the State Bar of Texas, he participated in drafting changes to the Texas Family Code. He took and passed the first family law specialization exam in 1975 and, thereafter, was appointed the chairman of the commission that drafted and graded the specialization exam for Texas attorneys and judges. He has been certified as a specialist in family law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization for more than 30 years. He was also one of the first attorneys in north Texas to become qualified as a divorce arbitrator or be trained in collaborative law.
