Profile

Christine (Christy) Albano makes it a priority to ensure protection of clients' rights while compassionately and efficiently assisting them through what is often a difficult emotional process in divorce, custody and child support cases.  She has an active solo law family law practice in Collin County, Texas. Named a Texas Super Lawyer Rising Star 2006-2010 and a 2011 Texas Super Lawyer, she has earned the respect of her peers across the state and throughout the country. She is a leader and energetic member in many local, state and national bar associations. Her service to the bar and the public has resulted in many award winning projects, including the creation of the Pro Se Divorce Handbook, the What to Expect in Texas Family Law Court handbook and the video Kids In the Crossfire: Helping Parents Understand the Impact of Divorce. She also continues to participate in legal seminars for the public, including Wills for Heroes and National Adoption Day.  She obtained a B.A. from Southern Methodist University in 1993 and a J.D. from the University of Missouri, Kansas City, in 1996. She spent several years as a staff attorney at Legal Aid of NorthWest Texas before opening her solo firm in 2003.  Her law school article regarding arbitration and child custody, published in 1997 in the Journal of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, was cited in July 2009 by the New Jersey Supreme Court in Fawzy v. Fawzy, 2009-NJ-0702.293.
