Henry (Hank) C. Paine Jr. is a partner at the Denton, Texas, law firm of Marsh, Paine & Waddill, P.C. Hank is board certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization as a criminal law specialist and has been practicing law for more than 30 years. During that time, Hank has gained extensive experience with all types of criminal cases, including the most serious, having prosecuted or defended 12 separate capital murder or attempted capital murder cases to date. He has also successfully represented individuals facing all types of drug charges, physicians accused of Medicare fraud and other offenses in state and federal courts, professional license holders accused of crimes such as assault, and countless individuals whose 4th Amendment protections and other constitutional rights have been trampled on by government authorities.
A native of La Grange, Texas, Hank began his legal career as an assistant district attorney in Brazos County. He later served as an assistant U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Texas and has been a special prosecutor for complex criminal cases in several Texas counties. Hank has also held leadership positions in several legal organizations, including the Texas Young Lawyer's Association (State Director, 1984-86).
