Laurie Fitzgerald is a Principal in the Austin office of McKool Smith. Prior to joining McKool Smith in May 2005, Laurie served as an associate at Susman Godfrey L.L.P. in Houston, Texas. Laurie has represented clients ranging from large multinational corporations to small businesses and individuals in a wide variety of complex litigation matters, including patent infringement litigation, copyright and trademark disputes, trade secret cases, business and partnership disputes, oil and gas litigation, employment matters, and securities litigation. She has represented both plaintiffs and defendants at trials in both federal and state courts. Laurie devotes a portion of her practice time each year to the representation of domestic violence victims on a pro bono basis. In 2008, 2009, and 2010, Laurie was named to the “Texas Rising Stars” list published in Texas Monthly magazine, a distinction reserved for the top 2.5% of Texas attorneys who are under 40 years of age or have been practicing law for less than 10 years. Laurie has been licensed to practice law in the State of Texas since 2001.
