Michael J. Uhl is a founding partner of Fitzpatrick Hagood Smith & Uhl LLP, a Dallas law firm with a primary focus on providing white collar criminal defense for individual and corporate clients throughout the Metroplex, the state of Texas and nationwide.
Mr. Uhl’s own practice focuses primarily on federal and state criminal defense, including grand jury representation, trial and appellate work, post-trial motions and sentencing reductions. His previous clients have included Fortune 500 companies, corporate executives, business owners, professionals and a variety of others charged with or under investigation for crimes such as embezzlement, fraud, tax evasion, public corruption, securities fraud and health care fraud. This extraordinary depth of experience, including more than 20 years as a federal and state prosecutor, has made Mr. Uhl a recognized expert among his peers in the areas of white collar crime, fraud and corruption.
Mr. Uhl is a 1985 graduate of Southern Methodist University School of Law. He began his career with the Dallas County District Attorney's Office and rose through the ranks to become a chief felony prosecutor before moving on to serve as an Assistant United States Attorney for the Northern District of Texas from 1990 to 2004.
