Stephen Foster is a Texas trial attorney with more than a decade of experience in civil and criminal litigation. A versatile and experienced litigator at the San Antonio law firm of Simpson, Foster & Gold, he focuses his legal practice on assiduously representing his clients in business litigation, contract dispute cases, white collar criminal defense, appellate litigation and commercial and residential real-estate transactions.

Mr. Foster's legal career began at Alvarez, Notzon & Gutierrez, one of San Antonio's premier civil law firms. Soon after, he joined the Webb County District Attorney's Office as a prosecutor, where he worked until 2004. He was then recruited by Bexar County District Attorney Susan Reed and served as Assistant District Attorney in the criminal trial division. . In 2006, he became a founding partner of Simpson, Foster & Gold.

Mr. Foster received his Juris Doctor from the University of Texas School of Law in 2000 and was admitted to the Texas State Bar in 2001. He is a member of numerous professional organizations, including the San Antonio Trial Lawyers Association, the San Antonio Criminal Defense Lawyers Association and the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association. He has received numerous professional acknowledgements and awards, including being recognized as a "Rising Star" in 2012 by Law & Politics magazine and Texas Monthly. In the same year, he was named one of San Antonio's best lawyers by S.A. Scene magazine. He is also the author of several articles and a book on criminal defense, and he has given lectures to business owners on legal issues pertaining to their businesses.

Mr. Foster has extensive experience representing clients before Texas courts and federal courts as well as state and federal appellate courts. He advises clients at all stages of litigation and frequently is consulted by other attorneys who respect his experience and assistance. His record of successful representation for his defendants in a variety of cases is sterling, with many cases resulting in dismissals and favorable verdicts.
