Travis received his Bachelor of Science in Political Science from East Tennessee State University in 2000, and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the Appalachian School of Law in 2003. Upon graduation, Travis received the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association 2003 Trial Advocate of the Year Award. Travis is licensed to practice law in the state of Texas, as well as the state of Tennessee.
Before joining the Marynell Maloney Law Firm Travis had established, during his nine years of practicing law, a distinguished career in representing clients in jury trials, in negotiating high value settlements, and in being retained by co-counsel to assist in complex cases.
Some highlighted examples include: a jury verdict of $4,750,000.00, reduced to $3,800,000.00 after comparative fault, for an injured construction worker, a jury verdict in the amount of $1,750,000.00 for intentional infliction of emotional distress to the plaintiff, $1,690,000.00 settlement involving the representation of a third party subrogee involved in the care of a brain damaged worker, a settlement in the amount of $1,670,000.00 involving a design defect of a child car seat which caused catastrophic injuries to the minor, a jury verdict in the amount of $1,155,000.00 for injuries to the plaintiff as a result of railroad crossing negligence, a jury verdict of $800,000.00 in a medical malpractice case involving the death of an infant, a settlement in the amount of $2,000,000.00 for class action discrimination suit, a trial settlement of $600,000.00 involving a medical malpractice claim from the personal injury/death of a 70 year old man, a trial settlement of $557,000.00 involving a medical indifference/civil rights claim from the death of an inmate, and a multitude of confidential settlements involving millions of dollars. In addition, Travis has previously represented large corporations and insurance companies and can use that knowledge for the benefit of the plaintiffs that he represents.
