As the founder of Allensworth & Porter with over 35 years of experience in litigation, William R. Allensworth has tried scores of jury cases and has handled appeals in both state and federal courts, including several of the more significant construction decisions rendered by the Texas appellate courts.
In addition, Mr. Allensworth is the founder of the Construction Law Section of the Travis County Bar Association (also known as the Austin Bar Association), and is a Fellow of the American College of Construction Lawyers.
He is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Texas School of Law where he continues to teach courses in Construction Law and Construction Litigation, and he is the co-editor of CONSTRUCTION LAW, a textbook published by the American Bar Association in 2009, used in law schools throughout the nation.
Licensed by the United States Supreme Court, the Supreme Court of Texas, U.S. Court of Claims, 5th Circuit of the U.S. Court of Appeals, and all U.S. District Courts in Texas, Mr. Allensworth is Board Certified in Civil Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.
Prior to attending law school, he served as a Lieutenant in Battery K, 4th Bn.,11th Marines in the former Republic of Vietnam.
