He retired as a Colonel and Judge Advocate, U.S. Army Reserve. His last duty assignment was Deputy Chief of the office defending all lawsuits against the U.S. Army. He has practiced 30 years, 23 of them with Kipp & Christian where he is a shareholder. He is admitted to the Utah State Courts, the U.S. District Court, the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the U.S. Supreme Court. He is a member of the Defense Research Institute and the Federal Bar Association.
