EDWARD D. BARNES

Barnes is the recipient of the 2008 Lifetime Achievement Award from the Virginia State Bar’s Family Law Section and the University of Richmond School of Law’s 2006 Distinguished Alumni Award. He is chairman of the National Center for Family Law, a Fellow of the International Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, a certified Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, and past chair of the board of governors of the Virginia State Bar’s Family Law Section. He has been listed in The Best Lawyers in America for more than 10 years and in Virginia Business magazine’s “Legal Elite.”

LAWRENCE D. DIEHL

Every family law practitioner in Virginia knows Diehl’s name. He co-authored Virginia Family Law: Theory and Practice, and is a recipient of the Virginia State Bar’s Lifetime Achievement Award. Additionally, The Virginia Law Foundation’s joint CLE committee presented him with the Gardener G. DeMallie, Jr. Award. He is a certified Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers.

BRIAN H. JONES

Past chair of the family law section of the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association, Jones is a former member of the board of governors of the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association and chair of the publications committee, and a certified Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. He is the author of Domestic Relations for the Virginia General Practitioner.

MICHAEL HUYOUNG

HuYoung is active in the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association’s continuing legal education committee, is a past chairman of the VTLA’s criminal law section and has served on its board of governors. In 2001, Virginia Business magazine named him “one of the top criminal lawyers in Virginia,” and he has an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell®.
