Carlton Bennett handles nursing home malpractice, assisted living negligence and traumatic brain injuries cases across Virginia. He won a $3 million verdict in Hampton Circuit Court in a traumatic brain injury case in November, 2005 and was part of a team of attorneys that won a $10.2 million verdict, with interest, in Norfolk Circuit Court in a traumatic brain injury case in August, 2008. He is a member of the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association, the American Association for Justice, the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, the National Coalition for Nursing Home Reform, and the National Brain Injury Association. Honors and Awards: The American Association for Justice recognized Mr. Bennett for his volunteer service to individauls who sought compensation under the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund. Trial Lawyers Care was the largest Pro Bono legal services program in history, providing free representation to more than 1,700 victim families. Verdicts and Settlements: $10.2 million dollar jury verdict: Zoll v. Werner Enterprises, Inc. Ms. Zoll suffered a traumatic brain injury when the vehicle in which she was riding in as a passenger was struck by a Werner tractor trailer, causing it to roll over at high speed. This was the highest jury verdict in the history of Norfolk Circuit Court. An Appeal by the defendant was denied by The Virginia Supreme Court., 2008
