Criminal Defense

Profile

Chris has practiced criminal defense since December 1996, when he began his career as an Assistant Public Defender for the City of Alexandria. In 2002, he formed the law firm of Leibig, Moseley, and Dillard (later Leibig, Moseley, and Bennett) in Alexandria. In 2005, that firm merged with nationally known defense attorney John Kenneth Zwerling to form Zwerling, Leibig, and Moseley. Chris continues to handle all varieties of criminal cases, focusing most specifically on defense of individuals charged with serious felonies in state and federal court. He regularly teaches CLE courses, and appears as a legal expert on local and national media outlets. In January 2012, Chris will form  the Law Offices of Christopher Leibig, which will work closely with the lawyers at his current firm (which will be Zwerling, Moseley, and Sears), and with the Law Office of Joni C. Robin. All three firms will work out of 114 N. Alfred Street in Old Town Alexandria. While Chris' practice has focused primarily on Northern Virginia in the past, he has represented clients in serious felony cases throughout Virginia, including in Charlottesville, Spotsylvania, Fredericksburg, Stafford, Luray, and Harrisonburg.
