Chris has practiced criminal defense since December 1996, when he began his career as an Assistant Public Defender for the City of Alexandria. He entered private practice by forming his own law firm in 2002. For the past sixteen years Chris has represented clients for serious crimes in the Northern Virgina area, and, more recently, throughout the State. He concentrates on serious felony cases, and handles misdemeanors and DWI cases on a select basis. In 2012, Chris formed the Law Offices of Christopher Leibig, and in only one year the firm has gained recognition as one one of the very top criminal defense firms in the DC area. The philosophy of this firm is to take only a small number of cases to ensure the proper attorney-client relationship in each one. This is not a factory-style, volume practice. Chris also teaches continuing legal education programs throughout Virginia, and regularly appears as a legal expert on local and national media outlets.
