An active, accomplished litigator, he regularly litigates in the state and federal courts of Virginia for both civil and criminal litigation with an emphasis on criminal law, constitutional law, employment law, and civil business litigation. He is licensed to practice in Virginia and the District of Columbia. Mr. Oblon earned his Juris Doctor degree from the George Mason University School of Law and earned his Bachelor's Degree from the George Washington University. In 2008, Mr. Oblon was named one of Virginia's "Leaders in the Law" by Virginia Lawyers Weekly.  In 2006, Mr. Oblon was profiled by Washingtonian magazine as being one of the Washington, D.C. area's "40 Top Lawyers Under 40." That same year, Law and Politics magazine listed him as one of Virginia's "Super Lawyers."In 2008-2006 and 2003-2002, Virginia Business magazine named Mr. Oblon one of Virginia's "Legal Elite." In 1995, Mr. Oblon won the Republican nomination for the Virginia Senate and went on to lead the party ticket in the election that year.
