Bar/Professional Activity: Former Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney for the City of Norfolk, Virginia and former member of the National District's Attorneys Association. Pro bono/Community Service: Served as President and Director of the Virginia National Guard Foundation, Inc. and while serving as President and Director raised in excess of $35,000.00 contributions. The Foundation is a 501(c)(3) Charitable Foundation as defined by the IRS. The foundation was created in 1984 to assist The Virginia National Guard and the Virginia Department of Military Affairs, it soldiers, airmen, employees and their families in times of financial crisis and emergencies. A member of the South Norfolk Ruritan CLub composed of more than 200 members which support the local community in many ways from co-sponsoring the Food Fest which raises thousands of dollars for witness assitance grants, scholarships for local needy students, contributions to hospitals, etc. to actually providing assistance to other community groups such as food kitchens and neighborhood watch program groups.
Verdicts and Settlements: Co-counsel in several traumatic brain damage cases with settlements reached usually while cases were in litigation; $7.5 Million; $2.4 Million; $2.1 Million; $1.1 Million, etc. Also handled numerous nursing home malpractice cases and vechile collision cases resulting in substantial settlements. Each case has it's own merit and value and the cases listed above are the largest settlements achieved and are not indicative of the value of anyone's else's case.
Representative Clients: Clients include those who have suffered traumatic brain injury as a result of the negligence of another. Also represent clients who suffer injury or death from medical malpractice whether it occurs at a nursing home or other health care provider or those injured in a vehicle accident, or assisted living facility.
Educational Background: Graduated from the University of Richmond, Va. in 1971 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Graduated from the United States Army Command and General Staff College in 1986.
