Ms. Hughes has always had a passion for family law. Ms. Hughes received the State Bar Domestic Relations Award in 2004 and has been an adjunct professor at George Mason Law School since 2004. She is the recipient of two Fairfax Bar President's Awards and was the youngest in practice Chair of the Fairfax Circuit Court Committee. Ms. Hughes has been appointed by the Fairfax Circuit Court as an NCE, a Commissioner of Sale, and has served on two judicial screening committees. She has successfully argued before the Court of Appeals. She serves on the George Mason Law Alumni Board. Ms. Hughes was elected in 2011 as a Director on the Fairfax Bar Board. Ms. Hughes is committed to a compassionate approach to family law, with a goal to help clients preserve their dignity during divorce.
