Honors and Awards:
- Deborah Luxenberg received the Charles A. Horsky award from the Washington D.C. Council for Court Excellence (CCE). Ms. Luxenberg was selected for her exemplary contributions to the Council as the chair of CCE’s Children in the Courts Committee from 2001-2009. From 2002 – 2009, she also served on the CCE Executive Committee.
- Ms. Luxenberg was awarded the DC Bar Pro Bono Service Award (1986) and the DC Coalition Against Domestic Violence Special Award (1987). In addition, while active with the Women's Legal Defense Fund, Ms. Luxenberg served as the Chair on the Task Force on Abused Women (1975-78) as well as a Consultant on its Emergency Domestic Relations Project; this was one of the very first efforts to fight domestic violence in the Washington DC metropolitan area.

She is listed in The Best Lawyers in America (2007-2011) and Super Lawyers (DC, MD & VA) (2007-2011) Ms. Luxenberg serves on the Executive Committee of the Council for Court Excellence and is the chair of its Committee on Children and the Courts. In 2008, she served on the Bar Association of DC panel that interviewed candidates for Chief Judge of the DC Superior Court.
