Honors and Awards:

• Deborah Luxenberg received the Charles A. Horsky award from the Washington D.C. Council for Court Excellence (CCE). Ms. Luxenberg was selected for her exemplary contributions to the Council as the chair of CCE’s Children in the Courts Committee from 2001-2009. From 2002 – 2009, she also served on the CCE Executive Committee.
• Ms. Luxenberg was awarded the DC Bar Pro Bono Service Award (1986) and the DC Coalition Against Domestic Violence Special Award (1987). In addition, while active with the Women's Legal Defense Fund, Ms. Luxenberg served as the Chair on the Task Force on Abused Women (1975-78) as well as a Consultant on its Emergency Domestic Relations Project; this was one of the very first efforts to fight domestic violence in the Washington DC metropolitan area.

• Ms. Luxenberg and Luxenberg, Johnson, & Dickens, PC have been awarded a "preeminent" by Martindale Hubbell - the most prestigious U.S. attorney rating service. Since 1995, the survey of area lawyers by Washingtonian Magazine has named her as one of the areas top divorce lawyers. She is listed in The Best Lawyers in America (2007-2011) and Super Lawyers (DC, MD & VA) (2007-2011) Ms. Luxenberg serves on the Executive Committee of the Council for Court Excellence and is the chair of its Committee on Children and the Courts. In 2008, she served on the Bar Association of DC panel that interviewed candidates for Chief Judge of the DC Superior Court. Her past positions include being President, Vice President and Secretary of the local chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, Chair of the Domestic Relations Committee of the Bar Association of DC, and Chair of the Family Section of the DC Bar.
• Luxenberg, Johnson & Dickens, PC, received the 12th Annual Constance L. Belfiore Quality of Life award by the Bar Association of the District of Columbia (BADC).
