Profile

Jerome Heckman, founding partner of Keller and Heckman LLP, represented a landmark Food Additives Amendment case resulting in a U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit decision in Monsanto v. Kennedy (1979). This decision has been cited in FDA rulemakings relating to packaging regulation and paved the way for major legislative efforts which led to a 1997 amendment of the Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act. He has been inducted into the Plastics Industry and Packaging Halls of Fame and was awarded the Director's Special Citation by FDA's Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition and the Georgetown University Paul R. Dean Distinguished Alumni Award. He is a graduate of Georgetown University (B.S.S., 1948; J.D., 1953).
