Profile

Ms. Stuart's practice emphasizes working with high net worth families, businesses and individuals in planning for wealth transfers through estates and trusts, business succession, charitable trusts, special needs trusts and the probate and administration of those estates.   She also handles matters involving corporate formation and counseling of entrepreneurs, corporate governance, security clearance investigations and appeals, and employment matters for executives and federal workers.As a former federal prosecutor who handled both US and international cases, Ms. Stuart is frequently called upon for commercial and business litigation services.  She is consulted by those under investigation by government agencies and law enforcement or those with extradition or Foreign Corrupt Practices Act or diplomatic immunity issues.  She has directed internal corporate investigations prompted by a grand jury subpoena and responses to search warrants. She assited in the representation of a whistle blower in a False Claims Act/Qui Tam action against one of the world’s largest defense contractors. Before starting her own law practice, Ms. Stuart practiced law at the Federal Trade Commission, as an Assistant United States Attorney for the District of Columbia, as a trial attorney at the Office of International Affairs in the Criminal Division at the U.S. Department of Justice and with two law firms in Washington, D.C.  She has offices in Washington DC, Vero Beach, Florida and is counsel to Simon & Partners, LLP in New York, New York.
