William Thaddeus Coleman, Jr., is a Senior Partner of O’Melveny & Myers LLP. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Coleman served as President Ford’s Secretary of the U.S. Department of Transportation. He graduated from the College of the University of Pennsylvania in 1941 and from Harvard Law School (magna cum laude) in 1946. He has briefed and argued 19 cases before the U.S. Supreme Court and has represented companies including Ford Motor Company, Goldman Sachs, and Merck & Co. He is a member of the ACTL, ALI, ABA, AAAL, the American Society of International Law, and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. He is a member of the Pennsylvania and District of Columbia Bars and the Bar of the Supreme Court of the U.S., among others. He received the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation’s highest civilian award, in 1995.
