Profile

Jay Causey has represented Washington workers in injury and disease cases since 1977. His current practice emphasizes Washington State workers' compensation, Social Security disability, and longshore and maritime law claims. He has chaired the Workers' Compensation Sections of both WSTLA and the American Association for Justice (formerly ATLA). Jay is a charter member of the National Organization of Social Security Claimants' Representatives (NOSSCR), founded in 1979. He has served as President of the Workplace Injury Litigation & Advocacy Group (WILG), a national non-profit association of injured worker attorneys he helped found in 1995. Under the AAJ umbrella, WILG is the most active national organization of attorneys dealing with workers' compensation system issues. He is current Executive Editor of Workers' First Watch, WILG's news magazine. Jay has been listed annually in the workers' compensation section of The Best Lawyers in America since 1996, and has been named by Seattle Magazine as one of Seattle's best lawyers.
