Ms. Cobb is a senior associate at Stafford Frey Cooper, P.C. in Seattle with a varied practice emphasizing the defense of governmental agencies and their officers for allegations of police misconduct and civil rights violations. The other part of her practice includes estate planning, probate administration, and estate/TEDRA litigation.
Representing numerous law enforcement officers from various agencies in inquests to law enforcement-involved deaths, the jury found in favor of the officers in all of Ms. Cobb’s inquests. In addition, She developed and presented a training program to assist officers dealing with officer-involved fatalities and has also conducted training regarding deadly-force encounters.
Since 2010 Karen has been selected as a “Rising Star” for Washington State. Through the King County Chapter of the Washington Women Lawyers, she volunteered as a law school student mentor. She has also been a presenter for the National Business Institute in CLEs related to probate.
Prior to attending law school, Karen worked for seven years in the insurance industry, the majority as an insurance fraud investigator. She graduated from the University of Minnesota-Duluth with a degree in Criminology (1987) and received her J.D., magna cum laude, from Seattle University (2003).
