Michael E. Nelson is the founder of the Seattle law firm of Nelson Langer Engle, PLLC. As a seasoned litigator with more than 35 years of experience, Mr. Nelson represents victims of traumatic brain injuries, catastrophic personal injuries and disabilities throughout the state of Washington.
As a survivor of a brain injury himself, Mr. Nelson brings a special empathy to his legal representation. His firm negotiated a multimillion-dollar settlement for one young client, Zackery Lystedt, and went on to help pass the Lystedt Law, which addresses concussions sustained in youth athletics.
The passage of this law - as well as five other significant achievements by Nelson Langer Engle, PLLC - was featured in Forbes in 2010. The firm has also set federal court precedents in cases involving ERISA subrogation, bad faith insurance law and disability issues.
In addition to being a member of numerous professional associations, Mr. Nelson was inducted into the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, an association of select trial lawyers who have proven their skill in advocacy by achieving a settlement or verdict of at least one million dollars.
