Profile

Michael Fisher is a partner with Rush, Hannula, Harkins & Kyler, L.L.P., in Tacoma, where he has spent his entire career.  Mike is an Eagle member of the Washington State Association for Justice.  He has also been active in the Tacoma-Pierce County Bar Association where he was the president of the Young Lawyers Section in 2007.  Mike is a tenacious trial lawyer who loves representing plaintiffs and puts every ounce of effort and enthusiasm possible into his work.  He has successfully recovered six-figure results for clients injured in nursing homes, injured on construction sites and injured by medical malpractice.  Mike recently recovered $5,000,000 on behalf of a client who was seriously injured in a collision with a commercial vehicle.  This year he is a member of the WSAJ Board and the chair of the Nursing Home Litigation and Elder Abuse section for the WSAJ.

Verdicts and Settlements: Recovered $5,000,000 for a client who was hit broadside by commercial vehicle. Sustained bilateral skull fractures and traumatic brain injury among other numerous complicating injuries. Client spent 93 days in ICU and rehab before being discharged from the hospital. Client is no longer able to work in the technical industry where he was previously employed., Recovered $475,000 for a client in a construction injury case.  Defendant  failed to ensure that proper shoring techniques were used during the trenching phase of a pipeline project. While working in the trench it collapsed causing steel plate to partially sever the plaintiff's forearm. Plaintiff was no longer able to work following the re-attachment of his arm., Recovered $300,000 for a nursing home client who died as a result of a fall.  Defendant nursing home failed to use proper fall protection to protect the client., Recovered $262,5000 for nursing home client with severe dimentia who died as a result of the negligence of the nursing home staff., Recovered $381,000 for client killed in a logging accident.  Temporary worker, Jared Carter, with no experience or training was sent to a worksite where logging operations were being conducted. Mr. Carter was working in an area of thick brush in close proximity to a tree that the owner of the company intended to fall. The owner of the company cut down the tree without making sure there was a clear area and the tree stuck and killed Jared Carter. Mr. Carter was a young man with no wife and no children so under Washington law the recovery was limited to the economic damages to his estate., Recovered $280,000 on behalf of client injured in a motor vehicle accident.  Client was the passenger in a vehicle that was struck broadside when the at-fault driver failed to stop for a stop sign. Client suffered injury to her neck and low back ultimately requiring a cervical fusion surgery and a lumbar fusion surgery from which she has made an excellent recovery.
