Profile

Mike Sorensen has practiced tax, pension, and corporate law since the 1970s. He graduated from the University of Washington as a member of the Order of the Coif and was Comment Editor on the Washington Law Review. Mike's present practice focuses on corporate, real estate, and business law issues, and he has represented both buyers and sellers in a wide variety of business transactions (including numerous no-action requests to the SEC). Mike has also worked for over 25 years in all aspects of the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act, representing several Alaska Native corporations as general counsel. He has substantial federal tax experience in both planning and controversies and has been involved in a number of cases before the Tax Court and the federal appellate courts.
