Scott's practice -- which includes trial and appellate work -- focuses on employment law and serious injuries. He has had the pleasure of helping his clients get outstanding results. These include a $2.4 million result in Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), Lam and Rios v. Frys Electronics that included securing a $100,000 discovery sanction in federal court, followed by a $2,300,000 settlement of plaintiffs’ retaliation and sexual harassment claims after litigating the case through arbitration; result was one of the highest recoveries per plaintiff nationwide in the history of the EEOC. The case was also selected as one of the Top 25 Workplace Harassment, Bias Settlements by The Insurance Journal. He served as lead counsel on EEOC v. Mason County, Lindell v. Mercer Island, and a single plaintiff discharge case resulting in $1.45 million. In 2009, he achieved the one largest recorded settlements per plaintiff in a sexual harassment case in the Western U.S. (EEOC v. Lowe's), and, in 2008, he obtained the largest single-victim discrimination settlement in Jury Verdicts Northwest (Sharma v. City of Vancouver). A discrimination case he tried was also selected as one of the five most important cases for employee rights (Zhang v. American Gem Seafoods - $3,963,033 judgment for race/national origin discrimination claims; upheld on all counts by the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals in August 2003). Scott is rated AV preeminent by Martindale-Hubbell and has been selected as one of The Best Lawyers in America.
