John M. Manion is one of the founding shareholders of Ryan Kromholz & Manion, S.C., located in Brookfield, Wisconsin.  The firm, which traces its roots back to 1873, was formed in 1998 and practices in all areas of intellectual property law including patent, trademark, copyright and unfair competition law and related litigation.  The firm maintains a second office in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin.  John is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office and admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Eastern and Western Districts of Wisconsin and the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.  He received both his undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering and law degree from Marquette University.  John primarily represents manufacturing companies throughout the state of Wisconsin.  He is a member of the Wisconsin Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the Federal Circuit Bar Association, the Milwaukee Bar Association where he served as co-chairperson of the Intellectual Property Law Section, the Waukesha County Bar Association and the Wisconsin Intellectual Property Lawyers Association where he served as Secretary / Treasurer and President.  John was a member of the Alumni Board of Directors at the Marquette University College of Engineering for six years where he served as Secretary, President-elect and President.  He is presently a member of the Alumni Board of Directors at Marquette University Law School.  He is also a member of the Marquette University Law School Woolsack Society.  John was named a Wisconsin Super Lawyer in 2006 and 2007 by Milwaukee Magazine.  He resides in Delafield, Wisconsin with his wife Lorelle and their four children.
