Kent I. Carnell is a shareholder and president of Lawton & Cates S.C. in Madison, Wisconsin. His practice areas include personal injury and business litigation. He has gained outstanding results for his clients in personal injury cases. Kent has also gained a reputation for successfully handling and resolving construction disputes.

Mr. Kent Carnell was selected for inclusion in the Wisconsin Super Lawyers 2006 through 2010. He is certified as a Civil Trial Advocate by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. Kent is a member of The Association of Trial Lawyers of America, the Wisconsin Academy of Trial Lawyers, and the James E. Doyle Inns of Court.

Mr. Carnell has a record of distinguished commitment to many community organizations and charitable causes. Kent is one of the founding members of the Second Harvest Foodbank of Southern Wisconsin, Inc. and served on the board of directors from 1986 to 1999. He also served as a member of the advisory Board to the Salvation Army for more than 25 years, and served as its Chair from 2000 to 2002.

Kent was admitted to the Wisconsin bar in 1970. He is also admitted to the U.S. Court of Appeals, Seventh Circuit, and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern and Western Districts of Wisconsin. Mr. Carnell received his J.D. from the University of Wisconsin in 1970.
