An award-winning California journalist, Hilary Abramson was an investigative and magazine writer at The Sacramento Bee and The Sacramento Union for a total of two decades. She has also been managing editor of Pacific News Service, a public radio commentator and a consultant for foundations. Her work has also appeared in The Los Angeles Times, Newsday, The San Francisco Chronicle, The San Francisco Examiner, San Francisco Magazine, and Kaiser Health News. A generalist known as much for her writing style as for muckraking, Abramson has told hundreds of stories before their time.
