Quynh Goodhouse Gives the Ultimate 2020 Advice: Be Kind Anyway

Discovery with Quynh Goodhouse

I can’t go a day without … coffee.

The quality I most like in a lawyer is … resilience. An effective lawyer recovers quickly from difficulty, rises to meet new challenges and does not languish in defeat or failure.

If I weren’t a lawyer, I’d be … a registered dietician or nutritionist.

The SCOTUS justice I’d like to meet is … Justice Elena Kagan.

The SCOTUS decision I’d overturn is … Shelby County v. Holder. (Can I have a second? Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission.)

A different practice area that intrigues me is … information privacy law. I’m particularly interested in new privacy issues pertaining to data collection, storage, processing and sharing relating to COVID-19, particularly with respect to children and in employment relationships. (PS: I am working towards a Certified Information Privacy Professional, United States credential.)

My favorite Twitter feed is … @DanRather.

The talent I wish I had is … photography. I love taking photos but I’m not very good at it yet.

The last TV show I binge-watched was … High School Musical: The Series, with my daughter.

Nothing cheers me up like … nature. A swim in the ocean, a walk in the woods.

A recurring dream I have is … running from rising oceans.

My motto is … Be kind anyway.

I am inspired by … my kids, who remain happy and positive even as their lives were turned upside down.

I’d most like to clink glasses with … Michelle Obama.

The best thing I discovered during quarantine was … gardening.
