Favorite building  -  The Old City Hall building on the corner of Jefferson and Lee.

Weekend getaway  -  Avery Island, the home of Tabasco, right outside of Lafayette.

Favorite historical site  -  Noel Acadien Au Village.

Favorite city event  -  Festival International de Louisiane.

Favorite historical resident  -  The best pole vaulter in history, Armand Duplantis—even though he is still a teenager.

Where to go after a win?  -  Pete’s or Judice Inn.

Where to go after a loss?  -  My back porch at home.

Favorite courthouse perk  -  It is two blocks from my office. That is the only redeeming quality of our current courthouse building.

Favorite breakfast spot  -  Hub City Diner with the kids.

Best local beer or spirit  -  Canebrake from Parish Brewing, a Louisiana wheat ale.

Best view  -  Any spot on the parade route at Mardi Gras.

Favorite park  -  Moncus Park at the Horse Farm.

Best place for people watching  -  Rock’n‘Bowl de Lafayette.

Favorite local shop  -  Revival Antiques in Scott.

Favorite city law  -  Drive-through daiquiri shops [which originated in the city].
