Discovery with Victor P. Kademenos

Victor Kademenos can do a mean imitation of Bernie. But not that Bernie.

My nickname is … Big Daddy.

I can’t go a day without … reminding myself, “I’m good enough, I’m smart enough, and doggone it, people like me!”

If you were in my office, you’d … see 14 pictures of my dog and one of my wife.

My colleagues would be surprised to know that … I can sing “La Bamba” in perfect Spanish.

When I was a newbie lawyer … I was never a newbie. Ever …

The lawyer I most admire is … Gerry Spence. I always wanted to ask him if he got to wear that buckskin coat to court.

The quality I most like in a lawyer is … his or her ability to make B.S. believable.

When I started, I wish I knew … the judge!

My career high point (so far) has been … passing the Bar exam. I really did not want to go back to work at the steel mill.

If I weren’t a lawyer, I’d be … a taxi driver in Greece. They drive as fast as they want and never get stopped.

When I win a case, I celebrate by … taking the jury to dinner.

The SCOTUS justice I’d like to meet is … RBG, RBG, RBG!

The SCOTUS decision I’d overturn isCitizens United. I keep looking for a person named “Wal-Mart” on the voter rolls, but no luck yet.

A different practice area that intrigues me is … criminal justice.

I can’t believe more people haven’t read … Mad magazine. It’s very insightful. Another one: my Wikipedia profile.

I can do a pretty good impersonation of … Bernie. From Weekend at Bernie’s—not the other Bernie.

My fictional hero is … Donald Trump. He can’t be real, can he?

My real-life hero is … my father. He came to America at the age of 12 without an education and sent three children to college and two to graduate school.

The book I just don’t get is … my checkbook. It has yet to agree with me.

The last TV show I binge-watched was … Seinfeld. “No soup for you”—it cracks me up every time.

If I had a morning show, my co-host would be … Larry David, the greatest comedian I know.

The craziest thing I witnessed in a courtroom … During my first pro-bono case, my client was charged with stealing a TV. The judge asked the value of the set, because it would determine whether it was a felony or misdemeanor. While the prosecutor was going through his paperwork, my client raised his hand and said, “Judge, it was a 19-inch color Sylvania.”

The movie line I quote most often is ... “Make my day!” Usually under my breath when opposing counsel is in the court.
